Poverty in Africa and exploitation of Africans labor and natural resources has continued to this day not by accident but by design says, Crystal Simone, Economic Justice lead at FEMNET – one of Africa’s largest women’s rights networks.
She made the remark speaking at a panel discussion during the 7th Pa Africa Conference on tax and illicit financial flows held in Nairobi, Kenya from October 1-3, 2019.
She argues that the narrative, “Africa is the most corrupt continent” is also wrong. She also criticizes “the cascade approach” of the World Bank and advices of the multilateral organizations to African governments.
