Ethiopia Industrial Parks Development Earned $267 million

July 17, 2026

The Industrial Parks Development Corporation stated that $266.9 million in revenue was generated during the 2018 Ethiopian fiscal year ended July 7, 2026 from products manufactured and exported by investors operating within the special economic zones and industrial parks it manages.

According to the Corporation’s CEO, Dr. Fisseha Yitagesu, the foreign currency revenue generated during the fiscal year is the highest recorded since the institution’s establishment.

The CEO stated that the export performance achieved during the fiscal year—when viewed against the Corporation’s five-year strategic plan—represents an encouraging result, demonstrating that set targets can be met either on schedule or ahead of time.

He also pointed out that a key factor in this success has been the ability to strengthen the multifaceted support and close follow-up provided to investors and manufacturing companies located in industrial parks and special economic zones. The corporation’s leadership is currently evaluating the plan performance for the 2018 fiscal year in the city of Hawassa.
