After the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) liberated Alamata town in Raya area of Tigray Region over the weekend, the militias of Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) have retreated with 10,000 prisoners.

This is indicated by the State of Emergency Command Post established by the Government of Ethiopia, which in charge of Tigray Region. ”The ENDF have liberated the town of Alamata in Raya from the TPLF junta. As the TPLF militia were defeated in Alamata, they fled taking along around 10,000 prisoners,” it said.



“The control of Almata by the ENDF is another demonstration that the operation to ensure rule of law is proceeding effectively with all the necessary cautions not to affect civilians.” Residents say many youth above the age of 14 had already fled the area for fear of being recruited by TPLF, according to the twits of the Command Post. Alamata town is three hours drive from Mekele City, which is expected to be the last stronghold and battle field.

After the TPLF militias have attacked the northern command post of Ethiopian Army based in Tigray Region on November 4, 2020,ENDF has been engaged in a targeted military attack to bring to justice TPLF fugitives who are wanted by the federal government for crimes against humanity, mega corruption, war crimes and treason, among others.


ENDF is currently circling the TPLF militia supported by Ethiopian Air force, which is attacking fuel depots and long-range missiles robbed from the northern command of the army. Over the past few days the TPLF militias have been attacking civilians in Gondar, Bahir Dar and Asmara, the capital of Eritrea.
