The Ethiopian Parliament on Thursday passes the new proclamation that aims to regulate weapons’ possession and combat illegal trafficking of fire arms within the country.
Including Turkish pistols, the customs officers in Bahir Dar, city of Amhara region of Ethiopia have seized 12,032 illegal bullets and guns this week.
The Ethiopian Customs Commission said it has seized over 35 pistols from smugglers who tried to bring the weapons illegally into the capital, Addis Ababa.
Ethiopian Police today seized four weapon smugglers with 105 Russian-made Kalashnikov guns in Burayu at the out skirt of the capital, Addis Ababa.
The Federal Police Commission of Ethiopia has indicated that over the past six months it has seized 382 Kalashnikov guns from illegal weapons’ traffickers.
The Addis Ababa Police Commission says it has seized four illegal machines guns with over 46,000 bullets smuggled into the city.
