Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, has arrived Asmara, Eritrea, today for two days official visit, Eritrean Information minister said.
President Isais Afwerki of Eritrea has welcome Prime Minister Abiy at Asmara Airport this morning, according to a twit by the Information Minister of Eritrea, Yemane G. Meskel. He stated that the two leaders are expected to discuss on bilateral and regional issues.
“Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, Dr. Abiy Ahmed, arrived in Asmara in mid-morning hours today for a two-day working visit. President Isaias Afwerki accorded warm welcome to the Prime Minister & his delegation on their arrival at Asmara’s International Airport,” Mr. Yemane twitted.
“The two sides will discuss further enhancement of the all-rounded cooperation between the two countries as well as regional and other matters of mutual interest. The Ethiopian delegation includes Finance Minister Ahmed Shide and other government officials.”
This is for the second visit to Asmara for Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed after the two countries restored peaceful relations a year ago after about two decades of hostility that followed two years of war between the two neighboring east African countries.
