African leaders meeting opens in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this morning with remarks from different countries heads of states who reflected on various global and regional issues.

The speakers at the opening of the 37th African Union Summit (AU) Summit include the AU Commission Chairperson, Ethiopian Prime Minister, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, UN Secretary General, President of the State of Palestine, President of Brazil, and the Chairperson of the AU.

The African Union Summit also launched the theme of the Year for 2024: “Educate and Skill Africa for the 21st Century – Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa” during an open session on February 17th.

In his remark related to theme of the summit, Prime Minister Abiy indicated that colonization has imposed Western education on African countries. He also reflected on the need to utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Africa’s education development.
