Sandvik has completed the previously announced acquisition of the Portugal-based company Frezite.

Frezite’s offering primarily consists of made-to-order polycrystalline diamond (PCD) tools for metal and wood applications, with exposure to the automotive, general engineering and aerospace segments. The company will be reported within Walter, a division within Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions.

In 2021, the company had revenues of approximately SEK 450 million and an EBITA margin that is slightly dilutive to Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions. Impact on Sandvik’s earnings per share will be limited, yet positive.

In August 2022, the business area Sandvik Materials Technology became the standalone listed company Alleima. Today, Sandvik’s operations are concentrated on the following core areas:

1- Equipment and tools, service, digital solutions and sustainability-driving technologies for the mining and infrastructure industries, such as automated and electric mining equipment and eco-efficient rock processing

2- Metal-cutting tools, tooling systems and digital solutions driving higher efficiency and automation in component manufacturing, as well as in-line metrology technologies, additive manufacturing services and metal powder.

Founded in 1978, FREZITE was created with the aim of producing and selling high tech precision tools for use in the processing of wood, derived materials, plastics and metals.

The experience acquired over more than three decades, along with a spirit of innovation and continuous investment in technology permit it to meet the most demanding and complex requirements of the wood processing industry: sawing, carpentry, furniture, processing of particle board, as well as the construction sector. It is also for this reason that FREZITE has gained a place among the global players in the sector.
