The Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration announced that it has provided over 2.6 million online trade registration and licensing services in the past eight months, achieving 110% of its target.
Kassahun Gofe (PhD), Minister of Trade and Regional Integration of Ethiopia, stated during the presentation of the eight-month performance report to the members of the House of Peoples’ Representatives that while the plan was to provide 2,427,320 trade registration and licensing services, 2,659,605 services were successfully delivered.
The Ministry is one of the leading institutions in realizing the “Digital Ethiopia 2030” vision. The online trade registration and licensing system it has implemented has enabled the business community to obtain efficient services from wherever they are without wasting time, energy, or money.
Furthermore, the Minister pointed out in his report that to further increase digital service coverage, export contract registration and shipping permit services have begun to be provided online.
The Ministry is securing tangible success by recording performances above its planned activities across various sectors over the past eight months.
