Gozem secures $30 million series B funding to accelerate expansion and revolutionize digital services in francophone Africa Gozem, a Super App in Francophone Africa, has secured $30 million in Series B funding.

The funding, comprises both equity and debt, led by SAS Shipping Agencies Services Sàrl (a subsidiary of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company SA) and Al Mada Ventures. “These strategic investors, whose expertise and affiliated companies, Africa Global Logistics, Medlog, and many others, will be key in enhancing our logistics and financial services offerings,” the company said in a press statement.

Since its launch in 2018 as a moto-taxi service, Gozem has expanded across Togo, Benin, Gabon, and Cameroon. Its Super App now integrates diverse services, including ride-hailing (moto, tricycle, and car), food and supermarket delivery, digital ticketing, vehicle financing, and digital banking.
This new funding will enable Gozem to expand further across West and Central Africa, enhance the transport experience by financing more brand-new vehicles for taxi drivers, and accelerate the launch of its innovative digital bank, Gozem Money.

“Gozem is an exceptional company that aligns perfectly with MSC Group’s dedication to Africa and its focus on developing innovative mobility and logistics solutions to boost trade. We are happy to accompany them on their journey and look forward to collaborating in the markets we both share across West and Central Africa.” said Diego Aponte, MSC Group President.

“As we continue to observe the evolution of the population’s demand towards technology enabled mobility services, Gozem stands out with its inclusive, reliable, and easy to use Super App model. We are very excited to back Gregory, Raphael and the entire Gozem team in their expansion plans.” said Omar Laalej, Managing Director at Al Mada Ventures.

“We are thrilled to welcome MSC Group and Al Mada Ventures as strategic investors. Their extensive experience in African logistics and financial services will be invaluable in scaling our Super App and expanding into new markets. Having such industry leaders support Gozem is a strong validation of our vision.” said Gregory Costamagna and Raphael Dana, Co-Founders of Gozem.
