President of Kenya William S. Ruto is set to attend the upcoming U.S.-Kenya Business Forum this week in the United States of America where the two countries celebrate 60th diplomatic relations anniversary.
The Forum takes place on the occasion of President Ruto’s state visit to Washington, D.C. that will mark the 60th anniversary of U.S.-Kenya diplomatic relations and celebrate a partnership that is delivering for the people of the United States and Kenya, from May 22-24.
The Forum will celebrate the growing commercial partnership between the United States and Kenya, the dynamic businesses at the forefront of strengthening trade and investment relations, and private sector deals cementing those ties, according to the information the U.S. Chamber has disseminated.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy. Its members range from the small businesses and local chambers of commerce that line the Main Streets of America to leading industry associations and large corporations. It is indicated that during his visit to the United States President Ruto will meet the U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo.
In addition, n Friday, May 24, Vice President Kamala Harris will participate in a moderated conversation with President William Ruto. Building on her trip to Africa in March and April 2023, the Vice President will speak about public and private sector efforts to increase investment in digital inclusion across Africa, and the strong partnership between the United States and Kenya on technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The Vice President has spoken extensively about the innovation, ingenuity, and entrepreneurship underway across Africa and how U.S. investment in innovation will unlock economic growth for Africa, the United States, and the entire world.
In April 2023, in Lusaka, Zambia, the Vice President convened business and philanthropic leaders to advance efforts to promote digital inclusion in Africa, and to build upon the more than $8 billion in public and private investments she galvanized as part of her trip to Africa.
The Vice President is looking forward to welcoming new commitments and new public-private partnerships formed in response to her Call to Action. Her ongoing work to increase private sector investments to promote digital inclusion is in support of the Digital Transformation with Africa Initiative, which President Biden launched at the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit in December 2022.
