The war between Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) and Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) has expanded to multiple fronts, which many believed to be the final fronts to set free Tigray from TPLF rule.

TPLF issued a statement this morning indicating that it is being invaded by ENDF and Eritrean troops in multiple fronts. Likewise the Government of Ethiopia has said TPLF has expanded its envision.

“Today, September 1, 2022 starting at around 4.30 am local time, has began a massive offensive towards Adyabo in four directions. The centerpiece of the enemy’s offensive consists of attacks from Fiqiya Gebre to Ademeyti; from Selamo to Sheraro; from Gobo to Tisin’at to Adi Aser and Erdi Mathias; and from Adi Goshu to Adi Aser. The enemy, having already relocated a massive military force to Eritrea, has now began a joint campaign with the foreign force of Eritrea to brutalize and exterminate the people of Tigray,” said Tigray military command in its statement shred on twitter.

On the other hand, the Government Communication Service of Ethiopia on its part also issued a statement indicating that the war relaunched by TPLF has expanded.

“The attacks relaunched by TPLF pushing against peace calls, have further continued to intensify today. Innocent civilians are being killed; many are being displaced and property is being destroyed. As it can be seen now, the duty of halting the terrorist group from its destructive activities has fallen on the government and the people of Ethiopia,” the Ethiopian Government said in its statement today.
It is recalled that before this round of war between ENDF and TPLF has started on 33rd of August, the two sides were expressing their intention to commence peace talks.

“…the government has a responsibility to ensure that humanitarian assistance is directed to the true intended beneficiaries of the Tigray Region and hence a conducive environment needs to be created to halt the diversion of assistance to the combatants as is being done by TPLF,” the Ethiopian Government Communication Service said.

A week ago, the United Nations and the World Food Program (WFP) have condemned the looting of 570,000 liters of fuel from WFP depot found Mekele city, the capital of Tigray Region, by TPLF.

Observers of the war, who unsighted the first round of the war that followed the November 2020 attack of ENDF base by the TPLF, say that currently TPLF is being encircled like it was by Ethiopian and Eritrean forces some 20 months ago. Hence, it is a matter of a few weeks before the Ethiopian forces set free Tigray from TPLF fighters once again concluding this 3rd round of war with yet another victory, according to these political commentators.
