The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Gedu Andargachew, on Tuesday (September 15) thanked the outgoing Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Tan Jian, for his outstanding service during his stay in Ethiopia.
Mr. Gedu said the relations between Ethiopia and China grew exponentially in politics, investment, trade, people-to-people engagements, and tourism during Ambassador Tan Jian’s stay in the country. The minister also commended the immense contribution of the Chinese ambassador to the completion of the Sheger project on time and Ethiopia’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Tan Jian thanked the government and the people of Ethiopia for helping him spent a successful tenure in the country.
He promised to work to strengthen the relationships between the two countries back at home.
In a related development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson H.E. Ambassador Dina Mufti told Addis Zemen that Ethiopia has scored landmark diplomatic achievements during the just ended Ethiopian year. Amb Dina pointed out that the diplomatic success protects Ethiopia’s economic, social and political interests.
