Through his spokesperson, the Secretary-General of The United Nations Antonio Guterres on Tuesday urges Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt to continue negotiations in relation to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The Government of Ethiopia announced that it will continue the construction of Great Ethiopian Reconnaissance Dam (GERD) and starts filling water into the dam next July as previously scheduled.

The Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) is set to mark its 20th anniversary tomorrow in Kigali, Rwanda. NBI has brought together the Nile Basin countries, Ethiopia, Uganda, Sudan, Egypt, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Eritrea and South Sudan.
