By Sisay Woubeshet – Bunna International Bank, one of the 16 private banks in Ethiopia, today awarded customers who received remittance through its formal banking system.
With the objective of proactively engaging in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in an organized manner, Bunna International Bank of Ethiopia said it is preparing CSR policy.
Gross profit of Bunna International Bank of Ethiopia grew to 625 million birr (over $20 million at the current exchange rate) for the year ended June 30, 2019, which is 46.4 percent increase compared to the previous financial year.
The total capital of bank in Ethiopia has increased by around 8% to 85.7 billion birr (around $3.1 billion at the prevailing exchange rate) at the end of last Ethiopian fiscal year ended June 2018.
Despite the global financial crises, banking business in Ethiopia is booming. Four new banks are currently under-formation while the existing ones continue announcing profit increment every year.
