Over 20 million people in Ethiopia have so far got COVID-19 vaccination, says the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.

The Ministry indicated that only during the second round vaccination campaign period that lasted for about two weeks from February 14 to March 1,2022, it has vaccinated a total of 13.3 million people. This is indicated that by Mr. Yohanes Lakew, national vaccination coordinator at the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia, who spoke to the state media Ethiopian Press Agency.

The data released by the Ministry shows that a total of 20.7 million people have so far received vaccination to protect themselves from the global pandemic. However there seems a discrepancy about about 3 million in relation to the total number of vaccinated people in Ethiopia when one adds the total number of the vaccinated people during the first round vaccination campaign and the second round.

Meanwhile the total number of vaccinated people in Ethiopia so far should have been around 23 million based on the report of the Ministry released a month ago that announced a total vaccinated people of around 10 million people during the first round vaccination campaign.

It is recalled that about a month ago (on February 9, 2022), the Ministry has indicated that it has vaccinated around a total of 10 million people in the country during its first-round vaccination campaign to combat the spread of the global pandemic.
