Ethiopian Civil Aviation grants 658 new licenses

Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) grants 658 new licenses to professionals after evaluating and approving their proficiency and competence in the just ended Ethiopian fiscal year.

According to the annual report of the authority earlier this week, the new licenses were granted to pilots, Airplane Technicians (A license) and Airplane Maintenance Technicians, it was noted. Besides, the authority granted certificate to 1045 licenses to Pilots, Technicians, Aircraft Simulator Instructors and Cabin Crews of Ethiopian Airlines and East African Aviation.



ECAA has renewed 5283 licenses, provided proficiency rating to 1055 professionals and technical examination to 571 professionals. Apart from licensing, ECAA has implemented safety and standard inspection on seven domestic airports at Lalibela, Gondar, Bale Robe, Semera, Hawassa, Jigjiga and Axum, it was noted.

Apart from licensing, the authority earned over 211 million birr primarily from air navigation services it provide to the air transport sector, licensing and training it provides to neighboring African countries, it was reported.
