Yango, an international tech company, announces its partnership with ShuuFare, that launches a new ride hailing service in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

As one of the leading local IT companies G2G will become a franchise holder that will run Yango service operations in the country, making Ethiopia the thirteenth African country where the service
is available.

“We are thrilled to announce the partnership with G2G IT Group and bring Yango to Ethiopia,” said Adeniyi Adebayo, Head of Africa, Yango. “We believe that combining Yango technologies, rich expertise and international quality standards with ShuuFare’s extraordinary local expertise and understanding of the Ethiopian market, together we will provide an exceptional ride hailing service to the people of Ethiopia.”

“We believe that our shared vision and expertise will enable us to deliver a cutting-edge, reliable, and efficient ride-hailing service that will transform the industry. We are committed to leveraging the power of technology to improve the lives of our customers and contribute to the growth of the Ethiopian economy. This partnership marks the beginning of a new era in mobility solutions for Ethiopia, and we are excited to bring this excellent service to our communities.” – Tedros Mehari, CTO, G2G IT Group.

Yango mobile app for iOS and Android is available for free download in Amharic and many other languages. To order a car, users download the app, open it and specify where they want to go. When geolocation is enabled, the service pinpoints where the user is and finds the nearby driver who will arrive the fastest. Yango powered by ShuuFare is a cash-only service now, so when a user orders a car, they input their destination address and the app algorithms automatically calculate the price of the trip ahead of time.

In addition Yango is planning to integrate with local payment solutions such as Telebirr taking a part the digitization of Ethiopia. If a user needs more information, has a question, or even forgets something in the car, they can contact a dedicated support team through the app. As a means of additional quality control, Yango app allows users to rate each ride, and drivers with low ratings may be denied access to the service for a period of time.

Yango is a tech company that transforms global technologies into everyday services for local enrichment. With an unwavering commitment to innovation, we reshape and enhance leading cutting-edge technologies from around the world into seamlessly integrated daily services for diverse regions. Yango ride-hailing app already operates in many countries across Europe, Central Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa, including Ivory Coast, Ghana, Cameroon, Senegal, Zambia, Angola, Congo Brazzaville, DRC, Mozambique, Algeria and Morocco.
