The Federal Government of Austria and the Government of Ethiopia have finalized preparation to sign air transport agreement here in Addis Ababa bidding to launch an air transport service between the two countries.
The agreement is expected to be signed by Director General of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, Col. Wossenyeleh Hunegnaw on Ethiopian side and his counter parts (not confirmed yet) Elisabeth Landrichter, Director General of Austrian Civil Aviation from the Austrian side. The signing ceremony was earlier scheduled for Sep, 23, 2020; but was postponed for logistic reasons.
It is known, however, that the two nations will be committed to sign with in few days, sources exclusively told New Business Ethiopia. Air Transport Agreement is a portfolio that contains detailed accounts like the number of flights the two countries will have per day, which air routes to use, what kind of Airplanes the two countries should fly to and from, among others.
This air transport agreement is always open for amendment changes arise. Up on completion of these agreements and other issues pertinent like Code sharing, Ethiopian Airlines will start its flight to Austria; the preparation of which is said to be well underway. By 2012 EC, the total number of countries which signed bilateral air transport agreement with Ethiopia reached 107, it was disclosed.
