Juweria Mohammed Ibrahim, Somali region of Ethiopia member of parliament (MP) and the ruling Prosperity Party is shot dead at Jigjiga Airport in the capital of Somali region of Ethiopia.

She was shot and died on the spot Tuesday afternoon around 3 pm by a police officer, who also wounded four other people, according to the information the Somali Region Communication Office disseminated. The police officer is currently arrested and investigation is underway, according to the statement, which also mentioned that the airport has continue providing the usual service to passengers.



“I am shocked and heart-stricken by the news that Somali region MP Juweria Subcis, was shot to death by a federal government Police officer at Jigjiga Airport, My thoughts and prayers are with Juweria’s family. We’ve lost a fine public servant and a much-loved friend,” twitted Filsan A. Ahmed, former member of Prosperity Party member, who resigned and now critical of the administration of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
On their social media pages, the ruling Prosperity Party and the Somali Region of Ethiopia have also expressed their condolances to the families and relatives of the late Juweria Mohammed Ibrahim.
