TPLF official Keria Ibrahim surrenders

The former speaker of the House of Federation Keria Ibrahim, who was one of the top officials of Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) has surrender, state media reported, ETV reported.

She announced her resignation from the House of Federation a few months ago after travelling to Mekele, the capital of Tigray Region. Since September 2015, Keriy has served as the Speaker for the House of Federation. In its statement the Government of Ethiopia has urged other for TPLF fugitives to follow Keriya’s suit.

After the Ethiopian army has launched a military offensive against the TPLF hardliners whose militia has attacked the northern command of Ethiopian army in Tigray region on November 4, 2020, Keria is the first high ranking official of the TPLF to surrender. Before becoming Speaker for the House of Federation of Ethiopia, Keria was the Tigray Region Head of Civil Service and a Chief Administrator of Debub Misraqawi Zone.
