The Council of Ministers of Ethiopia has lifted the state of emergency declared in November 2021 to contain internal political crisis, terrorist activities, and war in the northern part of the country and different pockets of the country.
The Council of Ministers during its meeting on Wednesday has decided to lift the state of emergency indicating that the issues that forced the government to declare the state of emergency can now be addressed through the normal rule of law operations.
The decision of the Council of Ministers of Ethiopia is now referred to the Ethiopian parliament for final approval, according to the information shared on the official social media page of the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.
