Ethiopia urges international community to take action against TPLF

The Government of Ethiopia urged the international community to take serious action against the Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF), which looted 570,000 liters of fuel from World Food Program depot in Tigray region.

The Federal Government of Ethiopia unequivocally: demands the return of the stolen fuel; requires the international humanitarian community to take serious action; and expects the international community to hold the TPLF accountable and provide the Federal Government guarantees that humanitarian assistance is indeed reaching intended beneficiaries and our people in the Tigray Region,” said the Ethiopian Government Communications Service in its statement on Thursday.

The fuel stolen by TPLF on Thursday as confirmed by WFP, was intended to be used for the transportation of aid to the people affected in Tigray region by the war between TPLF and the Government of Ethiopia. TPLF has looted the fuel after a new round of war has began between the two sides this week.
