Ethiopia reports 19 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases over the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia.
The new figure increases the total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia to 306. Among the new cases are eleven are from Somali region of Ethiopia, three from Tigray region, two from Oromia region and one from Amhara region. The Ministry of Health of Ethiopia stated that it has conducted coronavirus laboratory test for 4,044 individuals of which 19 are found positive. All the 19 COVID-19 people are Ethiopian nationals of which 14 are male.
Out of the total confirmed cases in Ethiopia, 113 have recovered including the one individual discharged from a hospital. The report of the Ministry indicated that 186 are currently getting treatment. Coronavirus daily laboratory testing capacity of Ethiopia has been increasing since the country reported its first case after sending the sample to South Africa. Currently a total of 53,029 coronavirus tests are conducted in Ethiopia. Of the total five people have also died so far.
