The Ethiopian Parliament today approved 786.6 billion Birr total budget for the 2015 Ethiopian budget year that begins on tomorrow July 8, 2022.
Compared with the previous year, the budget has increased by around 17 percent. The new budget was proposed by the Ministry of Finance about a month ago and has been reviewed by the finance sector standing committee of the Parliament.
The budget is prepared focusing on ten-year development strategy of Ethiopia, rehabilitation of the displace people by the civil war, and maintaining the national security of the country.
Today the budget is approved in the presence of Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed who addressed members of parliament questions, which includes the latest mass killings of Ethiopians by the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF-Shene).
