BY ANDUALEM SISAY GESSESSE – VAINCOUVER, CANADA – Web Summit, largest tech conference in the world, is opened colorfully this evening in the beautiful port town of Vancouver, Canada.
The summit is opened with remarks by Paddy Cosgrave, CEO of Web Summit Jay Graber, CEO of Bluesky; Gary Marcus, professor, AI contrarian, and founder; Ken Sim, Mayor of Vancouver.The summit will be open for the coming three days with new technologies introduced and the future of tech in different sectors discussed by entrepreneurs, business people and hundreds of participants gathered from all over the world.
Over the coming days the Summit is expected to welcome about 15,000 attendees from over 100 countries, and thousands of startups along with over 250 world class speakers such as tech giants like Microsoft, Google to Amazon, as well us over 500 investors from across the globe, according to CEO of Web Summit Jay Graber.
The attendees also include over 500 media representatives from across the world. In addition, different products and new services are introduced at the sideline exhibition areas.
Welcoming the participants, Ken Sim, Mayor of Vancouver on his part stated that Vancouver is one of the world’s most beautiful cities, with a flourishing tech community that connects the Americas, Asia and the Canadian West Coast.
