A delegation of Ethiopia led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen has met this morning with President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, who expressed his disagreement with ethnic federalism during the meeting.

“Before setting out for my campaign meeting this morning, I held discussions with the Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister, H.E. Demeke Mekonnen Hassen and his delegation at Gulu State Lodge,” twitted President Museveni.

The Ethiopian delegation has begun its visit to various African countries today with the aim of clarifying its current military operation in the northern part Tigray region, which it said aims to restore rule of law and bring to justice the leaders implicated in crimes against humanity, mega corruption, war crimes and treason, among others. The delegation is expected to visit six east African countries explaining the leaders that the current internal operation in Ethiopia won’t create regional instability as being portrayed by some international media outlets.

“Our discussion focused on the peace and security issues affecting Ethiopia currently. Being one of the oldest countries that was not colonised in Africa, Ethiopia is the pride of the continent,” Museveni twitted. The visit came a day after the TPLF militias attacked the neighboring Asmara, capital of Eritrea.
