Ethiopia appoints new deputy PM, foreign, health ministers

The Ethiopian parliament on Thursday approved the appointment of new deputy prime minister, and ministers of foreign and health.

Temesgen Tiruneh, the former Intelligence head, is now appointed to serve as Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia. The parliament has also approved the appointment of Ambassador Atske Selassie Amde to serve as Foreign Minister of Ethiopia.

The former Minister of Health of Ethiopia Dr. Liya Tadesse, is also replaced by Dr. Mekdes Daba. The Government of Ethiopia has also announced the appointment of former Ambassador to Eritrea, Redwan Hussien, to serve as the new intelligence head of the eastern African country.

Presenting his new members of cabinet of ministers, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed indicated that Ambassador Taye Akselassie and Dr. Mekdes Daba are not members of the ruling Prosperity Party.
