This week renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson, celebrated for his groundbreaking fusion of cultural influences, introduced a new culinary milestone to Addis Ababa with the grand opening of Marcus Addis.

Positioned on the 47th floor of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia building, this landmark culinary venture promises an extraordinary celebration of innovative cuisine and cultural resonance. A testament to the union of culinary excellence and hospitality, Marcus Addis emerges as a harmonious partnership between Albwardy Hospitality, the illustrious proprietors of the acclaimed Hyatt Regency in Addis Ababa, and the globally celebrated chef and author, Marcus Samuelsson.



Renowned for his exceptional gastronomic expertise and adorned with prestigious accolades including the James Beard Foundation Award, Samuelsson has graced the screens of popular cooking shows such as "Top Chef" and "Chopped." This collaboration promises an unparalleled dining experience, seamlessly intertwining the finest aspects of hospitality with the artistry of a culinary visionary.

A pioneer in traversing culinary borders, Samuelsson's illustrious career includes spearheading renowned restaurants such as New York City’s Aquavit, Red Rooster in Harlem and Overtown (Miami), Hav & Mar in Chelsea (NYC), multiple global MARCUS locations, and orchestrating the inaugural State dinner for the Obama Administration.

Set within the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia building, the restaurant boasts modern chic interiors adorned with thoughtfully curated Ethiopian artwork, providing an immersive cultural experience.
