Ethiopia accuses TPLF for blocking aid flights

The Government of Ethiopia on Thursday accused the Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF) for blocking aid flights to Mekelle, the capital of war-ravaged Tigray region of Ethiopia.

“TPLF terrorist group blocked aid flights to Mekelle airport. The government of Ethiopia in collaboration with the international community, has been facilitating daily air transportation to Tigray for the delivery of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and nutritional supplements,” said the Ethiopian Government Communications Service.



Since the war between the Government of Ethiopia and TPLF has began in in November 2020, tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians are reportedly died from both sides while millions are displaced. In addition, the country has lost billions of dollars of infrastructures and investments die to the bloody war.

Even though African Union led mediation led by the former Nigerian President has been going on for a long time, the two sides have continued preparations and propaganda against each other after declaring ceasefire.



Unofficial reports in the past few days claimed that TPLF has launched another round of military attack and captured the disputed Raya Kobo area
