Ethiopia Prime Minister arrives Guinea

As part of strengthening bilateral ties, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia Dr. Abiy Ahmed today arrived in the Republic of Guinea for an official state visit.

“The visit will contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries. Cooperation agreements were signed in 2019 between the two countries, in the areas of education, health, financial management, agriculture and culture and tourism, according to the information from the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia.

Guinea Republic President Alpha Conde made an official state visit to Ethiopia last year.

Last month President Alpha Conde indicated his plan to change the constitution, which is considered by opposition as a plan to extend his term in Office.

The current constitution of the country allows the President to stay in Office only for two terms. The second term of President Alpha Conde will end next year.

From Rwandan President Paul Kagame to Museveni of Uganda and Burundi’s President Nkurunziza, among others, several African leaders have been engaged in revising parts of their constitution over the past few years.
