President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea sent his delegation to Khartoum with expressing his government’s intent to help Sudan and Ethiopia resolve their border disputes peacefully.
“Eritrea’s delegation composed of Foreign Minister Osman Saleh and Presidential Adviser Yemane Ghebreab met today in Khartoum President of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, General Al Burhan, & delivered message from President Isaias Afwerki regarding relations between Sudan & Ethiopia,” twitted Information Minister of Eritrea Yemane G. Meskel.
Since last November Sudanese army has been in Ethiopian territory moving some 50 kilometers and occupied land it claimed belongs to Sudan. Indicating that the two countries have been in discussion to resolve the border claims of Sudan, Ethiopian government has been demanding the Sudanese government to withdraw its soldiers and return back to table and resolve the issue peacefully.
