Adigrat surrenders, Mekele encircled by Ethiopian troops

As the third round of war instigated by the Tigray Peoples Liberation Front (TPLF), the counter attack of the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) liberated the town of Adigrat in Tigray region from the rebel group.

Now the capital of Tigray Mekele is being encircled from all directions, according to unofficial reports coming from the ground. As shown in a video footage, the inhabitants of Adigrat have cheerfully welcome ENDF soldiers when they arrived at the town yesterday.

Since the third round of war has started about two weeks ago, TPLF has captured Kobo town in Amhara region within the first few days making happy its supporters in the diaspora, who filled the social media with the news.

Not long after ENDF has launched a counterattack in various directions stopping the movement of TPLF after Kobo town. ENDF has managed to split the forces of TPLF making it difficult for the rebel group to move logistics and its fighters from one location to another.

Adigrat town is found at a distance of less than 1 hour and 45 minutes from the capital of Tigray Mekele. Wukro is the next town found between the two towns on …kilometers distance.
