International aid agencies such as, UNHCR, WFP, UNICEF are giving their testimony that food, medical supplies, and fuel are being delivered to the people of Tigray without restrictions. Flight by Ethiopian Airlines has also resumed to Mekelle, capital of Tigray today.
“WFP has delivered 2,400+ metric tons of food and 100,000 liters of fuel into #igray since 15 Nov.
Logistics Response Team has transported 250 tons including medical supplies for partners. Flight to Mekelle resumed today,” World Food program twitted a few minutes ago.
The agencies stated that the Ethiopian government is still showing its loyalty to the peace agreement signed in in Pretoria, South Africa with the Tigray peoples Liberation Front (TPLF).
“More than 17,000MT of relief food delivered to #Tigray by Government of #Ethiopia and humanitarian partners since mid-November. Efforts are ongoing to reach more conflict-affected people across Northern Ethiopia,” twitted UNOCHA four hours ago.
Two days ago, 6 trucks of the International Committee of the Red Cross delivered food and medical supplies to the Tigray region. According to the information we have received, 20 vehicles loaded with humanitarian aid, which are going to Tigray region through Afar region, have arrived at Afar Serdo city.

According to the peace agreement, the government has continued to extend unlimited aid to the Tigray region. The government is working hard with international donors to deliver unlimited humanitarian aid and medical supplies as promised, according reports from Government of Ethiopia. As a result, a lot of aid has been provided to the people of Tigray.
On November 21, another UN agency dealing with refugees indicated that “1st UNHCR convoy since August arrived in Mekelle, Tigray, carrying life-saving humanitarian aid including medicines & shelter kits to treat the sick and repair destroyed homes. More is on the way as UNHCR scales up delivery of protection and solutions”.
UNICEF has also indicated on November 21, 2022 that it has delivered aid to Tigray region. “The first delivery of UNICEF humanitarian aid arrived in #Tigray today since the peace agreement. This lifesaving support is critical for women and #children. More supplies will be delivered to all areas impacted by conflict including in Afar and Amhara.”
