Expanding on the hospitality business, Ethiopian Airlines Group introduces the biggest hotel in Ethiopia built on 40,000 square meters next-door to Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

Labeled Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, it has 373 rooms and multiple facilities comprising 4 restaurants including a big Chinese Restaurant, swimming pools, gift shops and pastries. Ethiopian Skylight Hotel also has big banquet hall which accommodates 2000 guests at a time, 5 small size meeting rooms, gym, health center and ticket office.

“With a conference hall accommodating 2000 guests at a time, the $65 million worth hotel will be a significant addition to conference facilities of the fast-growing capital of Africa, offering hospitality at par with the international standard,” Ethiopian Airlines said.

The planned inauguration of Ethiopian Skylight Hotel by the end of January 2019 comes three years after its launch in January 2016.

“As a customer-centric airline, Ethiopian always seeks to offer its passengers end-to-end travel experience through continued service excellence…As part of this effort, Ethiopian Airlines will soon inaugurate its five-star Ethiopian Skylight Hotel which is located within a stone’s throw from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport,” Ethiopian said, in its press statement.

The guest rooms include deluxe executive suites and executive suites besides standard single and double bed rooms.

As Addis Ababa, the running capital, is on the upswing as the world’s gateway into Africa with a massive influx of global passengers, the cutting edge facility will help catalyze the inbound and outbound mobility.

In a press statement Ethiopian said that Ethiopian Skylight Hotel will enhance the travel experience of customers transiting via Addis Ababa Airport and tourists who come to Ethiopia through the travel packages of ET Holidays, the tour operator wing of Ethiopian Airlines.

“It will undoubtedly contribute its share to the growth of Ethiopia’s tourism by creating favorable environment for travelers’ stay in Ethiopia,” it said.

Besides, as Addis Ababa has a growing demand for international standard lodging, hotels and recreational centers with corresponding conference tourism growth, the new Ethiopian Skylight Hotel will serve as an addition to the hospitality industry.

The hotel will be managed by Grand Skylight Hotel Management Co. Ltd/GSHM, creating more than 800 jobs upon going operational.

Ethiopian Airlines stated that it is also finalizing preparations to commence the 2nd phase of Ethiopian Skylight Hotel which will bring the total guest room number to 1000.
