Ethiopia reports 29 new coronavirus cases

The Ministry of Health of Ethiopia today reported 29 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases during the last 24 hours.

Out of the 2,171 laboratory tests the Ministry has conducted over the last 24 hours, 29 are found COVID-19 positive. All the 29 are Ethiopian nationals between the age ranges of 15 to 45 years.



Out of the 29 new cases, 21 of them are from the capital Addis Ababa, while 7 were from Jigjiga quarantine center in the Eastern part of Ethiopia. One of the 29 is found in Adama City of Oromia Region and found during the house to house surveillance. Eight of them have international travel history, while the remaining had contact with COVID-19 positive people.

This has increased the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases of Ethiopia to 239. Out of the total 99 have recovered from the pandemic and five have died, according to the Ministry.
