Ethiopia reports 11 additional coronavirus cases

The Ministry of Health of Ethiopia said it has found 11 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases over the last 24 hours.

Now the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Ethiopia so far has reached 261 of which five have died and 148 are being treated. The Ministry stated that it has conducted laboratory test of COVID-19 for 2,424 people. All the new 11 coronavirus positive people are Ethiopians with international travel experience.



Eight of the new victims of the pandemic are from Afar region and were in a quarantine in Semera town. The other three positive are found Tigray, Somali and Amhara regions. So far 106 people of the infected people have recovered and two Japanese have returned back to their country.
Ethiopia has conducted a total of 39,048 laboratory test for coronavirus.

In Africa a total of 66,000 cases are confirmed so far with 2,300 deaths. Of the total, over 23,000 have also recovered in the continent. Egypt, Algeria, South Africa are among the African countries with the highest number of death and infection by the global pandemic.
