COVID-19 deaths in Ethiopia increase to 17

COVID-19 deaths in Ethiopia increase to 17

The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) has increased to 17 after three more deaths reported today, the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia said.

One of the deceased individual was getting treatment while, the other two are found COVID-19 positive by autopsy test after they passed away. One of the three new patients died by the global pandemic is a 71 years old woman who was resident of the capital, Addis Ababa. The two victims are male aged 46 and 40 from Oromia and Southern regions of Ethiopia. In the last 24 hours, The Ethiopia has conducted laboratory tests for 4,120 individuals.



In a related development in the last 24 hours 15 patients have recovered. This has increased the total number of recovered patients in Ethiopia so far to 246. Currently six patients are in critical contrition, according to the Ministry. In the last 24 hours the country has also registers 142 new coronavirus cases, which raised the total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia to 1,486.

The 142 new cases is the largest amount the country has reported in 24 hours so far. Out of the 142 new cases, two are foreigners – Portugal and Djibouti nationals, while the remaining are Ethiopians.
