The total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Ethiopia has increased to 74 after three additional COVID-19 positive cases are reported this morning.
In the past 24 hours the Ministry has conducted COVID-19 laboratory tests for 247 people. All the three COVID-19 positive Ethiopians are residents of the capital Addis Ababa and have no international travel history.
A day before the Ministry has conducted laboratory tests for coronavirus for 286 people. So far a total of 4,110 COVID-19 laboratrory tests are conducted in Ethiopia, according to the statement. The Ministry of Health of Ethiopia on Sunday said that two female Ethiopians with international travel history are found COVID-19 positive. One has recently returned from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates while the other has come from Turkey.
The Ministry stated that both women 24 and 35 years old were in quarantine in Addis Ababa upon their arrival. Of the total of 74 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ethiopia, 59 are getting medical treatment and 14 patients have recovered so far, while three have died and two foreign nationals have returned to their respective countries.
