The Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia today announced the appointment of Mamo Mihretu as the new governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia.
The previous Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia Dr. Yinager Dessie. was appointed after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed came to power in 2018. Mamo Mihretu has been working as the head of the recently established Ethiopia Investment Holdings (EIH).
The PM Office has also announced reshuffling of six other individuals including Engineer Habtamu Tegegn, from head of Ethiopian Road Authority to Ministry of Mines and Petroleum replacing Eng. Takele Uma.
Girma Amente is also appointed to serve as the Minister of Agriculture, while Dr. Alemu Sime is also became Minister of Transport and Logistics.
In addition, the former Ethiopia’s UN representative Taye Atske Selassie is also appointed to serve as Advisor of foreign policy of Ethiopia with ministerial rank. Meles Alemu, is also appointed to serve as Advisor for democratization.
