Ethiopian police captures over 18 kilograms Cocaine

Ethiopian police have captured 18 kilograms and 670 grams of cocaine over the past two months from twenty individuals. The drug dealers were nationals of eight countries including Ethiopia.


In addition, 20 grams of cannabis was confiscated from a passenger traveling to Canada from Djibouti via Addis Ababa, according to the report of Police program on the state broadcaster – ETV.  Some of the people captured with narcotic drugs were given by other people to deliver to someone they don’t know and were not aware that they are trafficking narcotic drugs.



The police warned travelers to refrain from carrying with them goods a stranger or relatives give them to deliver to someone else unless they are sure about what they are carrying.  The police indicated that smuggling of narcotic drugs in Ethiopia has been increasing.
