A delegation led by H.E Ahmed Shide Minister of Finance of Ethiopia met with H.E Yonis Ali Guedi Minister of Energy in charge of Natural Resources of Djibouti to discuss ways to enhance power trade between the two countries.
The meeting focused on how to connect the Aysha Wind Power Plant (WPP) to the Djibouti Power Interconnection Line. Both parties during the discussion agreed on the details of the implementation of the connection between the Aysha – II power plant and Hurso power plant.
H.E Ato Ahmed Shide elaborated about the importance of the strategic partnership between Ethiopia and Djibouti and said the two countries will further enhance their economic ties through this infrastructural integration which will result in more power connectivity.
Moreover, the Minister affirmed the interest of the Ethiopian Government to continue the positive relations between the two countries.
The delegation from the Ethiopian side included Ato Ashebir Balcha, CEO EEP, and Ato Andualem Siae, Executive Officer EEP. (Ministry of Finance – Ethiopia)
