The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Egyptian Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation (MIIC) have selected Ethiopia’s natural snacks startup, TruLuv Granola, to be part of the Next 100 African Startups Initiative.

TruLuv will have the opportunity to participate in the Africa 2018 Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on 7-9 December and connect with senior government officials, including Head of States, international financial institutions, and potential investors.

TruLuv’s Co-founder and Managing Partner, Blayne Tesfaye, will also have the unique opportunity to discuss the challenges facing women entrepreneurs and how to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs in a meeting with the CEO of the IFC, Philippe Le Houérou.

“Our vision is to become the world’s favorite healthy Ethiopian food, sustainably sourced from and crafted by Ethiopian women,” says Blayne Tesfaye.

“The Next 100 African Startups Initiative will give us an opportunity to meet like-minded investors and partners who can help us turn this vision into a reality.”

The well-tailored and comprehensive two-day program for the selected 100 startups will allow the founder to most effectively showcase their work, and facilitate value-added networking with the key stakeholders participating in the Forum as well as their participation in specialized workshops.

TruLuv Granola is a healthy, artisanal snacks manufacturing business located in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, operating since January 2017. Currently, TruLuv distributes granola snack products to Addis Ababa retailers and hotels.
